E. H. MARTH FOOD PROTECTION AND FOOD SCIENCES SCHOLARSHIP

The Wisconsin Association for Food Protection, Inc. (WAFP) welcomes your application for the $3000.00 - E. H. Marth Food and Environmental Sciences Scholarship. This award is intended to promote and sustain interest in fields of study which may lead to a career in dairy, food or environmental sanitation. One scholarship is awarded per year and previous applicants and recipients may reapply.

Eligibility requirements are:

1. Applicant must have completed a minimum of one (1) year in an accredited post high school undergraduate degree or diploma program (university, college, or technical college) in Wisconsin or an out-of-state school with a reciprocity enrollment agreement with Wisconsin.

2. Applicant must have full-time student status.

3. Applicant must be a resident of Wisconsin.

4. Applicant must be enrolled in a Dairy Science/Food Science/Food Microbiology/Environmental Sanitation or closely related major to be eligible for the scholarship.

THE FOLLOWING DOCUMENTS MUST BE SUBMITTED FOR AN APPLICATION TO BE CONSIDERED COMPLETE:

2. One copy of an official transcript - Can be atached to online application

3. A recommendation from an advisor or instructor which should address scholastic ability, professional potential, applicable work experience, extra-curricular activities, financial need and any other relevant information. (This may be mailed directly to WAFP by the advisor or instructor).


INSTRUCTIONS TO APPLICANT:

1. Give specific and complete answers to all questions. If a question does not apply to you, please answer with the letters N/A (not applicable).

2. If applicable, please have your transcripts and/or recommendations ready to be uploaded at the end of this application. Please note that your file(s) cannot be more than 2MB and must be a (.PDF & .DOC/.DOCX only.) Multiple files can be uploaded at one time.

2. Applicants will be evaluated on the following criteria:

  • A. Application properly completed and submitted before the deadline.
  • B. Advisor/Instructor recommendation.
  • C. Academic achievement.
  • D. Financial need.
  • E. Work experience.
  • F. Extra-curricular activities.
  • G. Student thoughts

3. The scholarship recipient will receive the cash award after providing confirmation of registration for the next term to WAFP’s scholarship committee.

4. The decision of the selection panel is FINAL.

5. The completed application and required supporting documents must be received by WAFP by July 1.
